This is the reason why the Association des Sommeliers d'Europe, with its amateurs, learning how to pair wines and dishes, decided on a dinner at "Oliviera restaurant", in the old city of Nice, where they could meet Monsieur Beyrouti, a specialist in olive oils.

On the 28th of October 2008, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Le Var, organises the Gastronomy and Provence Wine Trophy. The theme, this year is:
“VARITION ON SUCKING CALF”
SINCE 2001, A SPECIAL SOMMELLERIE PRIZE (1000 €, first prize, 500 €, second prize + AND A LOT OF OTHER PRIZES) IS GIVEN TO THE BEST FOOD AND WINE MATCHES.

MEETING THE ASSOCIATION OF MOLDOVAN SOMMELIERS 22nd to 25th October 2009 | | |
After a 2 hour drive on bumpy roads, we got near the Ukrainian border. The countryside is splendid with large rich fields, small villages where gaggles of geese invade the roads, and cows everywhere to graze the last slips of grass. There, we could understand why Moldova used to be called the loft of Russia.
Finally we discovered, on the right hand side of the road a superb domaine, where they had run up the French flag in our honour.
